Ergonomics and health education teaches students how to complete a course in a safe and healthy way. Students will have the opportunity to reflect computer functionality and the importance of ergonomics.

While many people are familiar with various forms of communication, many do not know how to optimize their functionality and use it properly. In this unit, students will explore various forms of communication in detail and how to use them effectively and efficiently in business settings. Special attention is given to create an email, write messages that are appropriate for the audience or certain goals, and ethics at work. Students will have the opportunity to make the right messages for different situations and explore and analyze acceptable use policies in the workplace.

The internet is very important for businesses in the world today, but a few decades ago, it didn’t exist. Business throughout the world is very fast to become an expert on the network and computing to compensate for colleagues and competitors. This unit explores how the internet changes from time to time, its impact on the business world, ways in which devices are connected to the internet, the role of service providers, the importance of internet security, and infrastructure that makes the internet available. Students will have the opportunity to investigate how various devices that support the internet are used differently in the work environment and home.

In this unit, students will learn how to optimize web search, utilize browser features, evaluate electronic sources, and conduct market research. Students will have the opportunity to conduct their own market research and analyze websites for certain business purposes.

The database and electronic websites are very good for conducting research, but businesses also need to create their own websites for marketing and to share information. In this unit, students will be introduced to the properties of effective website design, creating websites for audiences and certain types of businesses, and use features and content to attract customers and clients. Students will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge they just gained by creating their own web pages.
