Language And Technology A Level – Language technology is a practical field combining linguistics, computer science, information technology, mathematics, cognitive science, phonetic, psychology, translation research and artificial intelligence research. In fact, language technology focuses on models and processing with a natural language machine. Language technology includes theoretical research on calculating linguistics and developing applications in the real world such as grammar testers, re -reading tools, information restoration, identification and synthesis of speech, machine translation and smart interaction system.
At the University of Helsinki, you can study language technology courses in a bachelor’s degree in language (as part of the language science, meaning linguistics, research path) and at the masters’ human language and digital level (Lingedig, former Lingeda). Using Technology To Teach English As A Second Language

Language technology is part of the university language science song. Students have automatically obtained in Lingedig, our ghost program and can choose the main language technology route.
In the years 2017-2019, our main program is called Lingeda: The variety of languages in the digital age. From a language student’s point of view, a new Lingadig program is really like Lingeda, but Lingid combines two new learning paths, cognitive science and digital humanities, and offers more courses.

To research language technology at the university level, you need to register a bachelor’s degree program in language and course of linguistic scientific studies. Your internship will take place in the Kik-LG100 language modules, basic research (30 ECT) and Kik-LG200 linguistics, intermediary research (40 ECT). If you want to specialize in the main language technology, you will need to register to monitor Lingdig’s main language technologies. You can use the LDA-T300 module technology, advanced studies, including a total of 90 credits:

By completing Kik-LG510 and KIK-LG500, you have the right to continue Lingid’s master’s program directly from your bachelor’s degree studies without participating in separate application and entry process.
