Despite being present, it can only be enjoyed when the sky is dark and away from the city lights or the light of the moon. Find a camping on tombstones in September and you may be in a good surprise!

Another of the best miracles you need to experience in Yukon is the midnight sun. It’s called because the sky is light from the sun 24 hours a day during the summer months. If you are north of the Arctic Circle, the sun never touches the horizon on the longest day of the year. Whitehors is the capital of Yukon and the only practical place to fly. This is where you will probably start your trip to Yukon, unless you drive from BC. The Lake Smerald is nearly 45 minutes from the Whitehors and is on its way to Cardkros. You can stand here and enjoy the view of your way to Carcross or Skagway. Lake Lake is in the southern region of the Yukon Lakes, which is worth exploring its giant, empty lakes surrounded by mountains.
Lake Smerald is a beautiful lake with an incredible string of colors. You can see something from deep shades of emerald (hence the name) to blues, green and everything in between. The lake is shallow but cold. You can swim in it if you dare.

The lake seems to have its own personality, showing different faces depending on the day and lighting. Fox Lake is a great destination for photographers to capture the light that reflects water. Pro Tip: This is a really nice place during the sunset.
Desert Cardkros is one of the most popular places to watch near Whitehors. This attraction is a very controversial place. While called the desert, the local climate is not actually dry enough to host the desert landscape. Instead, the desert is a large sandy dune, from winds blowing sand and sludge from the shores of the neighboring lake Bennett.
The desert (if we want to call it) is approximately 2.5 square kilometers and makes an interesting walk and great photo dress. Once I went through it and came across some very large bears in the sand! The sand is heated in the strong sun, so make sure you have a proper footwear to keep your feet burn. This natural allure Yukon can easily be paired with Lake Emerald.
Lake Kathlin is easily one of the most beautiful sights to be seen during your trip to Yukon. Kathleen Lake is about half an hour south of the Hains junction, which is 2 hours west of the Whitehors. You can easily make a daily trip to Kathleen Lake from Whitehors if you don’t mind driving or staying at the nearby Hains junction to explore the rest of the Klan National Park.

Kathleen Lake is huge, sapphire blue glacial lake at the foot of the St. Elias mountain range. The lake is astonishing than the road, the camp and even better than the top of King’s top, which is one of our favorite increases in the area.
The club’s Lake is in the heart of Klan National Park and has too many incredible views to describe. Enjoy the view of the lake or look west of the Slims River and the icy fields in the St. Elias Mountains. On a windy day you can see dramatic storms of dust rising on the edge of the lake, as the wind flogs the dried sludge of the glacial river in the lake. It’s easy to see where the lake gets its color! You can go to a mountain of sheep, right on the edge of the lake for the eyes of some birds on the lake and surrounding mountains. Clown Lake is one of our favorite natural attractions in Yukon.
There is no better way to get a great look at the city of Dawson than to drive or drive at midnight the dome. The Midnight Dome Mountain summit has a great view of the entire area of the city of Dawson. This area is rich in history and you can imagine that Goldrush is going far below because you see from your lofty pillow. Looking at the Klondik River as it flows into the Yukon River, mixing two different colors is really cool.
The mountain tombstones are one of the most iconic sights in Yukon. It is a little more than an hour to get to the point of the mountain of tombstones from the city of Dawson, but well worth a look. You can stop at the Territorial Park Center at the tombstone to learn something or two while you are there. This is also a shelter of the mountaineer, so insert the boots and the head into the wild!
